An agent is a member of your staff. It has a name, a role, instructions, the tools it may use, an approval policy and a budget. It is draft, active or paused. The roster is the list of agents in your workspace.
The eight templates
Each template comes with instructions, a tool set and a list of the actions it always stops for. A workspace can tighten that list and can never loosen it below the floor.
| Template | Takes | Always stops for |
|---|---|---|
| Research analyst | A question or target profile, sources to prefer or avoid, the output format | Contacting anyone or paying for data; the memo arrives as a draft |
| Support triager | A queue or label, a tone guide, escalation rules, the refund policy | Any reply; any refund, credit or cancellation; anything tagged legal or angry |
| Bookkeeper | Read access to the ledger, the chart of accounts, categorization rules | Posting any entry; categorizations above a threshold; any new vendor |
| Outreach writer | A target list, the offer, your tone, example emails, a do-not-contact list | Every send; adding anyone to a sequence; the do-not-contact list is never touched |
| Meeting prep | Calendar access, which meetings to cover, an example brief | Never sends; asks before reading a source not named in the brief |
| Inbox triage | Labels to manage, a VIP list, what counts as urgent, reply templates | Any reply or forward; archiving a VIP's mail; unsubscribing |
| Content repurposer | The source, the channels, your brand voice, examples | Publishing or scheduling anywhere; quoting a named person |
| Recruiting screener | The job description, must-haves, a scoring rubric, where applications land | Contacting or rejecting a candidate; protected characteristics are never scored |
The first run is draft-only
Whatever its policy says, a new agent's first run produces drafts and nothing else. Write scopes unlock for that agent after a person has reviewed one complete delegation. This applies to templates and to agents you build yourself.
Versions
Editing an agent's instructions, tools or policy creates a new version when you publish. Published versions do not change. A delegation pins the version it started with, so a run in progress is never altered underneath you, and the activity log can say which version did what.
Track record
Each review feeds the agent's record: delegations done, how often deliverables were accepted first time, and the average cost of a run. The record is on the agent's page and helps you pick who gets the next brief.
Building your own
The builder walks through identity, instructions, tools, guardrails and a test on a sample task before the agent joins the roster. Test runs have side-effect tools switched off.
