Briefs

A brief is the unit of work you hand to an agent. It says what you want, what to use and where to stop. The agent plans from it, so the brief does not need to list steps. Approvals catch the cases the brief did not cover.

What a brief contains

The outcome in your own words. A paragraph is usually enough.

Attachments and links

Files, folders and pages the agent may read. Sources named here need no extra permission.

Due date

When the deliverable is needed. Meeting prep, for example, delivers 60 minutes before the meeting.

Budget cap

The most the delegation may spend, in credits. The run stops at the cap and asks.

Deliverable format

A memo, a table, drafts ready to send, a reconciliation. The agent delivers in that shape.

Checkpoint toggles

Ask me before anything leaves the workspace. Ask me before spending over a set amount.

What a good brief looks like

• It names the outcome: a ranked list, a memo, twenty drafts.
• It names sources to prefer or avoid.
• It says what done looks like, including the format.
• It says where to stop: drafts only, flag refunds for me, do not contact anyone.

Triage everything that came in since 08:00. Tag, prioritize, draft replies for the top twenty. Flag refunds for me.

That brief works because the Support triager already stops before any reply is sent and before any refund. The brief adds the scope and the order of work.

Estimates before, actuals after

The composer shows an estimate in credits before you delegate, based on the template's typical run. While the run is going, each step shows its cost on the Progress timeline. When the delegation is done, the actual cost stays on it for good. The estimate is a guide; the cap is the limit.

Drafts

A brief stays a Draft until you press Delegate. Drafts autosave, so a brief started on Monday can be finished on Tuesday. Once delegated, the brief is fixed; to change course, use the Thread to steer, or re-delegate with a new brief that links back to the first.
